Dear Cranwellian,

I attended the Founder’s Day Ensign Raising Ceremony on 4th February. The Commandant had told me that he was attending a family funeral that day and Gp Capt Emma Keith would stand in for him. It was a good event with cadets on parade and staff attendance, and attention drawn to the Trenchard vision by the Senior Under Officer who had clearly read the memorandum in which Trenchard set out his vision for the College within the newly formed Royal Air Force. Contributions from the Gp Capt and the College chaplain emphasised  Cranwell’s history and potential  in forming key values. It was good to see CA members Chelvin Hibbert and Chris Meynell there on a cold and damp Lincolnshire early morning.

It is good to see the College commemorating our foundation so well.
