Mel Turner

We were sorry to hear from Canada that Gardiner Melvin Turner AFC of 62 Entry (B Sqn) passed away on the 22nd of February 2025.

Photographed here with Mike Allisstone (left), Mel was awarded College colours for Fencing and Modern Pentathlon.  He was a Shackleton captain on 37 Sqn at Khormaksar in 1958, a QFI at CFS and then became a test pilot at Boscombe Down.  He then retired in July 1968 as a Sqn Ldr then emigrated to Canada, married Sandy and re-trained for the legal profession, ending up as a QC (now KC).
