THE RAF COLLEGE COMBINED PARADE
29th APRIL 2022
The COVID pandemic had meant that officers graduating from The RAF College Cranwell over that period had experienced a much restricted graduation parade and most importantly one which relatives and friends had not been able to attend. A similar situation had occurred at Halton.
On the 29th of April 2022, this omission was rectified when HRH The Prince of Wales was the Reviewing Officer for nearly 500 men and women from the RAF College and Air Specialists of the RAF Halton Recruit Training Squadron who paraded at Cranwell in front of a crowd of some 2000 relatives and friends.
It was a splendid parade which filled the College Hall Parade Ground, commencing with a perfectly timed fly past by a Voyager and two Typhoons, an inspection cleverly arranged to include The Prince of Wales, the Chiefs of Defence and Air Staff and members of the RAF Senior Leadership Team, thus keeping the inspection time to reasonable limits.
Advance in Review Order and March Past on which the sun shone completed a memorable day for those on parade and for proud relatives and friends.
I was delighted to attend as your President and was able to have a word with HRH about the Trenchard Statue and the CA.
It was superbly organised and a great credit to the Service and particularly the Commandant and his team.
The photo shows HRH returning to the Dias after his inspection of the Parade.
