RIP Colin Parkin

(76 Entry)

We are sad to announce that Colin Parkin passed away on the 12 September 2021.

Colin Parkin arrived at the College in January 1957 as a member of No 76 Entry ‘B’ Squadron straight from St Edward’s School. He soon found himself a member of the Shooting VIII.
On graduating in December 1959 as an officer in the Equipment Branch (now the Logistics Branch) he was posted to RAF Cottesmore, a ‘V’ bomber station. Subsequent tours took him to No 25 MU RAF Hartlebury, RAF Tengah, RAF Valley (where he was OC Supply Squadron) and the MOD.
Following his first retirement in 1976 he was head of science at Lockers Park preparatory school (Hemel Hempstead) for 20 years. On full retirement he developed his interest in clocks and watches, not only collecting them but also repairing them. In so doing he became an acknowledged expert in matters horological.
Most importantly, Colin was a much loved and very loving family man.
